A Play

Bravo my life

Four middle-aged women went on a trip to Washington D.C after the long Pandemic. Eunjoo runs a nail salon, Junghee is looking for another job, Kyungsil is a housewife and Rosa is a nun. Each of everyone has their own pain and joy.

They look around the White House and talk about their lives: painful menopause, children wanting to leave them and husband who is crazy about golf.

They also visited the Korean War Memorial. It reminds them to look back the history of Korea, especially the period after Japanese colonization.

In fact, Japan colonized Korea for 35 years. During these long years, Japan even took away rice bowls to make weapons, and they tried to completely erase Korean people to convert them into slaves of Japan. However, Japan doesn’t apologize about what they did on Koreans. Yes, they sometimes apologized, but next morning it was reversed. Worse is that Japan apologized and even compensated to other countries, but only not to Korea. Koreans must face the true history and know where they are now.

They come back home after a short trip. On the way back, they dream happy news. What is happiness? Parents and children love each other, and husband and wife love each other. Happiness is so simple. To love each other.

Why this show?

This show is planned to support middle-aged women who immigrated from Korea. They sacrifice a lot for their husbands and children. One day, when they become middle-aged, they suddenly realize that there is not much left around them. For example, husbands play golf or stay outside with friends, and children leave home to form their own families. In many cases, loneliness remains as a friend of middle-aged women. This show was created to support these middle-aged women.

The show will be performed in Korean.
