Rentals @ Chain: Zoomed Out... A Return to the Live Stage

  • Chain Theatre 312 West 36th Street, Floor 4 New York, NY, 10018 United States (map)

Two playwrights together bring five new plays to the stage for the first time.

"40th Street...A Story Of A LIfe" by Richard Thomas Henle: A look into the mind of the writer as he works his way through the regrets of never being able to speak his feelings when they mattered the most. He is guided through events that affected him and the people closest to him, he is guided by a unique analyst who seems to know more about him than he is letting on.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES: by D.S. Burrows. Like all the Upper East Sider Seniors, Rosie always scores her weekly cannabis needs from that same kid on that same park bench. Today there's a distinguished older gentleman, Peter, sitting there instead. Both their lives are about to be changed.

POST: by D.S. Burrows. Ted felt he had to fire this employee. This employee does himself in and in a FaceBook post blames Ted for his suicide. Marty is there to comfort Ted. Or is he?

KAR: by D.S. Burrows .Winky the Clown has figured out how to get a world record twenty-nine clowns into their clown car for the Big Apple Circus opening since the pandemic. But it all hinges on his super flexible son, Pickles the Clown, and Pickles won't do it because all the other clowns are vaccinated, and Pickles has picked up some very strange ideas about that.

LUNCH AND A ZOMBIE: by D.S. Burrows. Leo stops by the park bench where he always eats lunch and there's that familiar Homeless guy he'd never speak to, as always. This time though the homeless guy looks like a Zombie. But hey, it's Halloween, so why not right the wrong and talk with him about things like... his great Halloween costume?
