Eric Bogosian (Playwright) is known for his six solo works produced Off-Broadway between 1980 and 2000 (three Obie Awards, Drama Desk) and his play, Talk Radio (nominated for Pulitzer Prize and for the 2007 revival, the Tony award). For Oliver Stone's film adaptation of Talk Radio (in which he starred), Bogosian received the Berlin Film Festival Silver Bear. In 1994, Lincoln Center Theater produced his play subUrbia and the revival was staged at Second Stage in 2006. In 2010, he starred in Donald Margulies’ Broadway production of Time Stands Still alongside Laura Linney, Brian Darcy James, Alicia Silverstone, and Christina Ricci. In addition, Bogosian is the author of three novels as well as numerous plays produced outside New York City. In 2015, Little, Brown published his non-fiction of an Armenian assassination team, Operation Nemesis. Bogosian is also known for his work as an actor, currently seen in the television series Law & Order, Billions, and Succession. In 2019, he played "Arno" in the hit film Uncut Gems. Bogosian lives in New York with his wife, stage director Jo Bonney.

Katie North (Brianne) is an actress, writer and producer based in New York. Some of her favorite credits include Lady Macbeth in Lady Macbeth Off B’Way (The Cutting Room), Pye in Exposed: a New Play by Beth Henley (Black Box PAC), Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion (Black Box PAC), and Myra Bruhl in Deathtrap (Princeton Summer Theater). Katie has a bachelor's in neuroscience from Princeton University, which she utilized to produce and star in Next to Normal. Katie is immensely grateful to that experience for setting her on her career path. In college, Katie also was allowed to play with liquid nitrogen, with next-to-hazardous results. Daniel Yaiullo (Phil) is thrilled to be reprising his role in Eric Bogosian's 1+1 following its workshop run at Black Box Performing Arts Center. Last summer he played Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost with Hudson Classical Theater Company, which earned him a NY Shakespeare nomination for performance of the year. Some other highlights include Kenneth Branagh’s Macbeth at the Park Avenue Armory, Hurlyburly (dir. Robert O’Hara), Twelfth Night (dir. Ian Belknap), Dress of Fire with Austin Pendleton, and Women Behind Bars with Amy Stiller. He recently wrapped filming for "Events at Hemlock Manor", a comedy/horror pilot written and directed by his co-star, Katie North. In addition, Daniel has participated in readings with Red Bull Theater and The Acting Company, graduated from NYU Tisch, and has studied in Oxford at the British American Drama Academy.
Danielle MacMath (Swing) is a NY/NJ-based actor, singer, and educator. She is Co-Managing Director of BBPAC, with credits such as Spring Awakening (Wendla), Significant Other (Laura), Hair (Jeanie), Who's Afraid of Virginia Woof (Honey), Othello (Emilia), Measure for Measure (Isabella), Adele in Ode to Joy by Craig Lucas, and most recently Jane in the premiere production of Exposed by Beth Henley. Other credits include: Cornelius in Cymbeline (Powerhouse Theater Apprentice Company), a Baker on the Polar Express Train Ride (Event Energizers), Sara in Soul Searching (Nuyorican Poets Cafe), Melinda/Mandy in ...Rise of the Goatman (Theater for the New City), Mary Warren in The Crucible (FDU) and Louisa May Alcott in HERstory, an educational touring show in NJ. Matt Okin (Director; BBS/BBPAC Artistic Director) formed Bergen County's Black Box Studios in 2007 and founded The Black Box Performing Arts Center in November 2015, now reopened in Englewood, NJ. Select directing credits include the world premiere of Beth Henley's Exposed, the NJ premiere of Paul Schrader's The Cleopatra Club, Craig Lucas' Ode To Joy, the regional workshop premieres of Eric Bogosian's 1+1 and Neil LaBute's ten x ten (both now in ongoing development for NYC); Nicky Silver's Fat Men In Skirts; The Pillowman; Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?; Pygmalion; Hair; Talk Radio & Griller in rep; Buried Child; Hand To God; Disgraced; Cloud 9; The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?; Evil Dead The Musical; Bad Jews; and Passing Strange. His original plays, produced in New York and on national tours, include: Beltsville/Rockville, Part One: Rise Of The Goatman; #OneInnocentWoman; Twist Of Faith (currently being redeveloped for film); Walter Liked To Sit In His Big Backyard, and Cherry Hill. Matt's musicals include Soul Searching (45th Street Theater, DR2 Theater, and NYMF) and the long-running NYC hit A Match Made In Manhattan: The Interactive Jewish Wedding Experience. Matt received a BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University's Tisch School of The Arts; he is a long-time Teaching Artist for select high school drama programs in Bergen County; and his first work for the screen in almost a quarter of a century is the comedy Issues, currently 'making the rounds' in Hollywood.
Ilana Schimmel (Production Designer) is an NJ/NY based Designer, Actor, and Teaching Artist. Past featured credits include: Beth Henley’s EXPOSED, Craig Lucas’ Ode to Joy, Paul Schrader’s The Cleopatra Club, and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. She graduated from Montclair State University with a B.A in Theater Studies. These performances continue to be dedicated to my mom, Joy. Ben Shanblatt (Original Incidental Music) is a guitarist, composer, and educator based in New York City. He is a recent graduate of The New School, earning a BFA in jazz guitar performance. He has been an educator in the NJ/NYC area since 2015, teaching students of all ages and levels of ability. At 23 years old, Ben is quickly becoming a sought-after sideman in NYC, performing at legendary New York venues including The Bitter End, The Knitting Factory, Bowery Electric, The Cutting Room, among many others. Initially coming to Black Box as a student, Ben has collaborated with Black Box in various capacities since 2014. He has worked as an actor, musician, and musical director with the company in addition to composing original music for BBPAC’S Shakespeare in the Park series, most recently for Shakespeare’s production of The Tempest. Ben was nominated for two awards on broadwayworld.com for his work on BBPAC’S productions of Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet. Ben wishes to thank Matt Okin and everyone at Black Box for the opportunity to contribute to this project, and Eric Bogosian for his incredible work.
Black Box Performing Arts Center, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is based in Northern New Jersey. The collaborative group of artists pivoted during the pandemic and the organization has become NJ's incubator for world class playwrights. Following Eric Bogosian's 1+1, BBPAC's '21-'22 season has included new and under-produced works including The Cleopatra Club by legendary filmmaker Paul Schrader, Ode to Joy by Broadway's Craig Lucas, and recently the premiere production of Exposed by Beth Henley - who collaborated during rehearsals with the creative team via Zoom and made the trip from the West Coast to see the show and participate in a Q&A session.
